F.requently A.sked Q.uestions

  • Being Philadelphia-based, I love incorporating the city’s character into my work — from the historic charm of Old City and cobblestone streets, to the modern skyline backdrops, Fairmount Park greenery, and vibrant murals that make Philly unique. I’m also open to regional travel.

  • I photograph real moments and well-made art—portraits, events, weddings, branding, and archival artwork documentation—with a Philly heartbeat (or any location you choose). I also manage fine-art printing and editions so your images are exhibition-ready from capture to print.

  • Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your session. The remaining balance is due by the day of the shoot.

  • I recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date, especially for weekends and peak seasons.

That being said, I know life happens and things come up. Feel free to reach out for tighter turnarounds and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

  • You can expect your gallery within 1–2 weeks for portrait sessions and 4 weeks for large events.

  • I deliver images via a private, password-protected online gallery and full resolution .jpg images.

From there, you can download high-resolution photos and order prints.

  • Yes! All final images are professionally edited for color, lighting, and composition. Additional retouching (such as skin smoothing or background cleanup) is available upon request.

  • Yes — life happens! I allow one complimentary reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • What do you mean by “archival” artwork photography?

Archival documentation is studio-grade capture designed for accurate color, geometry, and detail—suitable for prints, catalogs, galleries, and insurance records. I photograph flat and 3D work with even, color-managed lighting and deliver master files plus web-ready images.

    What do I receive?

    • One master 16-bit TIFF (from RAW) per final view

    • High-res JPEG for general use

    • Web JPEGs optimized for sharing

    • Optional contact sheet/proofs on request

    Color management details?

    • Hardware-calibrated workflow; ICC-managed from capture to export

    • Adobe RGB (1998) by default (ProPhoto on request)

    • X-Rite ColorChecker reference included on request

    • Even illumination verified to within ~1/10 stop across the frame

Lighting & glare—how do you handle reflective work?

    • Cross-polarized lighting (polarizers on lights + lens) for glossy, resin, varnish, or glass

    • Raking light available to reveal texture/impasto

    • For framed under glass: removing glass yields the best result; if not possible, I minimize reflections with cross-pol and careful angles

    On-site or in-studio?

Both. I can come to your studio or gallery.. Travel within the city is typically included; outside the city is quoted.

    How big can you photograph?

Very large. On location, I can document oversized works and install shots. For small works and flat art, I use a copy setup for precision and edge-to-edge sharpness.

Do you photograph 3D work (sculpture, jewelry, ceramics)?

Yes—multiple angles on neutral white/gray or a styled surface. Macro detail, scale views, and process shots are available.

    File naming & organization

Clear, searchable structure—e.g., Artist_Title_Year_View01.tif—plus logical folders so you (and your designer/printer) can find everything fast.

    Turnaround time

Most sets deliver in 1–3 business days (rush available). Larger collections are scheduled and quoted for timeline.

How should I prep the artwork?

    • Dust/clean surfaces; remove price tags and tape residue

    • Confirm titles/dimensions for filenames

    • If under glass and removable, please have a clean area ready for safe unframing (or we’ll photograph through glass with cross-pol)

    Handling & safety

White-glove handling; no adhesives or tape on artwork.

Do you include color proofs or test prints?

Soft-proofing is standard. Physical test prints are available (see “Printing & Editions” below).

    Usage rights

You receive usage rights for documentation, print reproduction, sales, press, web, and social for the photographed works. I retain copyright to the photos and may request permission before sharing in my portfolio.

How are files delivered and backed up?

Web gallery for review/sharing plus downloadable folders (TIFF/JPEG). I maintain a backup for at least 12 months; long-term archiving can be added.

    Pricing

Projects can be hourly or per-piece, depending on volume and complexity. Share your list (sizes, finishes, 2D/3D) and I’ll send a clear quote with a not-to-exceed cap.
